Thoughts and Reflections

Spirituality is the sun. Religions are the sunbeams. Spirituality is a meadow. Religions are the flowers. If you think that one sunbeam is the only one or is surely better then the rest, that only one flower stands for the whole meadow, it means...what does it mean? To say something like that, to think like that, means to be tragically removed from contact with the father-sun and the mother-meadow. But we have witnessed, and still do, that it happens, that religious wars are fought, covertly and openly, and that they are justified with “divine” reasons. In other words, there are in the history of mankind many examples of when religions and churches have behaved in a worldly manner while the spiritual teaching of their founders, or of the Supreme Inspirer, have been used as a cover up for acquiring earthly power and achieving worldly objectives more suited to a state or an empire.
